Half Step Down is the Sturgis East a cappella group. 

Who should join? Students in grades 9-12 are invited to participate in this extracurricular group. It is recommended that the student interested in joining this group either has previous choral music experience, can read sheet music, has a well-developed ear, or is very dedicated to music making! 

What does the group sing? Popular music in contrasting styles/genres in four-part harmony (SATB). This group offers many opportunities for solo singing.

When does the group meet?  Rehearsals take place during lunch on Monday (11:45-12:25). Location varies, so meet in the music room at 11:45.

Of note... this group has also performed at the 2018 a cappella festival at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. In the summer of 2019, this group performed with the group Cape Harmony at the Federated Church in Hyannis.
